In October of 2006 criminal law attorney Lewis Gainor successfully defended at jury trial a Round Lake Beach woman who was accused of battery. She was arrested on August 13, 2005 by the Round Lake Beach Police Department. Another woman had accused her of invading her home and attacking her.

The police cuffed Lewis Gainor’s client and booked her on charges of battery and trespassing. Both offenses are Illinois Class A misdemeanors.

When the case went to court, Waukegan criminal lawyer Lewis Gainor demanded a jury trial in which he could prove that his client was innocent. The trial lasted the course of several days.

During the State’s case, Lewis Gainor was able to prove that what the incident was really about was the fact that the women were related and fighting over an inheritance. Lewis Gainor’s client had just lost her father. During his final days, the alleged victim and she had disagreements.
